The Better Version Of You Starts In The Comfort Of Your Own Home

Relaxation

Swedish massage is a form of manual therapy which is primary used to relax and destress the client. This form of massage is very gentle with a soft touch, alternatively the parasympathetic nervous system will take over and leave the client in a state of bliss, commonly referred to as (rest and digest)

Reflexology

Reflexology is thought to be one of the earliest forms of massage, maybe even the first. This form of massage primarily focuses on the feet and hands.  the philosophy of this form of massage is to target certain areas or zones in the foot which correspond to their counterparts in other areas of the body.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is primarily used for getting deep into the muscle fibres and reducing muscle stiffness and tightness. Deep tissue massage has many benefits and is a good way to maintain muscular integrity and to reduce acidity within the muscle tissue.

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy is a unique type of treatment which uses AC & DC currents at a low frequency. This type of therapy is used to treat the neuro-musculoskeletal system, with various types of electrotherapy equipment. Dry needling can also be integrated with electrotherapy.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a unique type of treatment which involves several techniques that can be used and integrated. Sports massage integrates relaxation, deep tissue, active stretching (PNF) and trigger point therapy all at the same time while using a dynamic and active treatment style. This is very beneficial for athletes or people you train on a regular basis.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy is type of treatment used to release and desensitize muscle knots which can develop within the muscle belly. These knots are hyper irritable nodules in taut muscle fibres. Trigger point therapy uses compression and pressure points with reasonable force to unwind these annoying knots. This type of therapy can produce great results, but the process can feel unpleasant to the client at times.

Dry Needling

Dry needling, also known as Trigger point dry needling, is a method of treatment which uses fine needles that are inserted into the skin and muscles. These needles are precisely inserted into the muscle to stimulate an adverse healing affect. Typically, these needles are inserted where a muscle knot resides, this will cause the trigger point to release and relax. At times the Trigger points/knots can be very hard and calcified to some degree, the needles will break up this calcification and cause a chemical release in the body to desensitize the nerves and muscles in the region. Dry needling can also be used to heal scars from post surgery, be integrated with Electrotherapy stimulation and to reduce myofascial tension.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a type of manual therapy which targets the fascia tissue within the body. Fascia’s physical appearance resembles that of a spider web, a connective tissue matrix which runs throughout the body, much like the cement between the bricks connecting everything together. Myofascial release can affect the fascia but also the surrounding structures within the treatment area. By releasing a fascial restriction in one area, alternatively that can have an effect in another area. Myofascial release can also be integrated with other treatment techniques such as Myofascial Cupping therapy and Myofascial Dry needling. These techniques offer an external mechanical force, allowing for a much more detailed and precise treatment.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual lymphatic drainage is a specialised type of therapy that treats lymphedema, excessive swelling, and puffiness. When certain lymphatic pathways are inhibited and not functioning properly, this causes lymphatic pooling, swelling, and lymph fluid build-up. Manual lymphatic drainage is a method that uses soft massage strokes to manually drain the lymph allowing the fluid to proceed through the lymphatic vessels. The lymphatic system contains white blood cells, proteins, and fats while also acting as the body’s transportation and sewerage system. This is a very specialised treatment and is used to reduce swelling and puffiness.

Functional Cupping Release

Functional cupping therapy is a method of treatment that uses suction cups applied to certain regions on the body. These cups produce negative pressure when applied as the air is sucked out, causing a vacuum that slightly pulls the skin and underlying tissue into the cup. Cupping therapy is an ancient healing technique thought to be thousands of years old. It has since evolved and become more dynamic, producing amazing results that positively affect the body. Although cupping does leave marks on the skin, these marks are painless and are a collection of stagnant blood, toxins and lymph fluid dredged up during the application process. These marks typically fade away within a few days to a week. This type of treatment can also be integrated with mobility drills while the cups are on, and with myofascial cupping that can help desensitise painful areas.

Advanced Joint Mobilisation

Advanced joint mobilisation is a great treatment method that can produce a whole range of positive results. Mobilising joints in the body allow the clients’ range of motion to increase with comfort while also affecting the joint’s surrounding muscular tissue. At times some joints can stiffen up, and the articulation of that joint reduces; mobilising the joint promotes more fluid flow to the joint and surrounding muscles. Joint mobilisation is not a chiropractic or osteopathic treatment but rather a soft and gentle mobility technique that involves compressions and oscillations.

Exercise Programs/Prescription

Prescribing exercises or training programs can ensure that the treatments are further maintained post-treatment. The human body best responds to movement in the case of recovery by maintaining tissue integrity; this will certainly reduce the risks of injury in the future. Keeping the body under a state of physical stress for short periods of time, such as exercise, reduces the risk of injury. Keeping the body strong will maintain longevity and improve overall health.

Clinical Taping

Taping methods and techniques have been used in many cases, whether for sport or injury rehab. Clinical taping uses different kinds of tape designed to support joints and limbs and provide comfort while moving. These tapes are designed to support injured limbs, provide better proprioceptive feedback, promotes recovery and healing, prevents hyper-mobility in injured joints, prevents injury during sport to weakened areas, and can also help with lymphatic drainage. The kind of tape needed depends on the client’s issue, as certain tapes allow no movement while others offer some elasticity.

Mindset

Mindset has a significant role to play in the sense of recovery and maintaining the progress that has been achieved or will be achieved. Exercising a positive and productive mindset will inherently affect everyday life choices and decisions, ones that will turn your life around and have you succeed in every goal you desire. Having the right advice and support where needed is also important to ensure that you’re on the right path.
